Ready for more control than Wix?

A Wix Alternative Built to Scale With You

Move from Wix to a custom website with the structure, integrations and control to grow.

Wix makes it easy to get online fast. Drag-and-drop editing, an app market and built-in hosting help a lot of organizations launch their first website without a developer.

As your organization grows, so does your website: more pages, more programs, more people editing and more systems to connect. That is often when teams start looking for stronger structure and more control than a drag-and-drop canvas was designed to provide.

Wondering if you have outgrown Wix? Let’s talk it through.

Talk About Your Website

Why organizations move from Wix

When freedom becomes clutter.

Wix’s flexibility is a strength at the start. As a site grows, many teams find they need more structure, more custom development and more control.

01

Scalability

Each page is designed on its own canvas. With dozens or hundreds of pages, keeping layouts, spacing and styles consistent takes more and more effort.

Shared templates keep every page consistent automatically.

02

Content architecture

Programs, resources, staff profiles and events work best as structured content that can be reused, filtered and searched across the site.

We model your content so it can be organized many ways.

03

Custom development

App market add-ons cover common needs, but features specific to your organization are harder to build and maintain inside the platform.

We build exactly what your programs need.

04

Control and portability

A Wix site lives on Wix. The site itself cannot be exported as code and hosted somewhere else.

A custom site can be set up so you own the code and choose where it runs.

What a custom website provides instead

Structure, flexibility and control.

A custom website is built on a clear content structure: programs, events, people and resources are entered once and appear wherever they belong, in a consistent design.

That structure makes it easier to add new pages, search and filter content, and connect your website to the other systems your organization relies on.

Where it fits the project, your organization owns the domain, hosting accounts and source code, and can move them in the future.

  • Searchable directories
  • Interactive maps
  • Member and client portals
  • Program and resource libraries
  • Custom databases
  • Dashboards
  • Online payments and bookings
  • CRM and email integrations
  • API integrations
  • AI-powered website search and Q&A

Is moving right for you?

An honest fit check.

Wix may still be a good fit if:

  • Your site is small and one person manages the design
  • Apps from the Wix App Market cover what you need
  • You want an all-in-one builder with hosting included

It may be time to move if:

  • Pages look inconsistent and take a long time to update
  • You need content that can be filtered, searched and reused
  • You need integrations or features beyond the app market
  • You want to own your website’s code and where it is hosted

We are happy to tell you if staying put makes more sense.

What the Wix migration covers

Nothing important gets left behind.

Your existing website stays live while your new one is built. Here is what we take care of along the way.

Content migration

Wix does not offer a full-site export, so we carefully move your page content, blog posts, images and files, and restructure them into reusable content types along the way.

URL redirects and SEO protection

We map your current Wix URLs, including blog post links and older auto-generated page addresses, to their new locations so rankings and bookmarks are protected.

Forms and integrations

Wix Forms, bookings, stores and member areas are rebuilt or connected to the tools you use, and tested before launch.

Accessibility

We design and build to WCAG 2.2 AA standards with consistent headings, structure and keyboard navigation across every page.

Training

Your team learns how to add and update structured content, which is usually faster than designing each page by hand.

Launch support

We move your domain or point it to the new site, monitor search and analytics after launch, and stay available for questions.

Ownership

Your organization can own the source code, domain and hosting accounts, so the website is never locked to one provider.

How it works

Moving from Wix, step by step.

See how this fits our overall approach on our website migration page.

01

Review your current Wix site

We walk through your pages, apps, forms, integrations and analytics, and note what is working well.

02

Design your content structure

We decide which content types you need and how they connect across the site.

03

Design and build

We create shared templates and build the custom features your organization needs.

04

Migrate and restructure content

Pages, posts and media move into the new structure, cleaned up along the way.

05

Rebuild forms and integrations

Every form, booking and connection is recreated and tested.

06

Redirect and protect SEO

Old URLs are mapped and redirected before launch.

07

Train, launch and support

Your team learns the new site, we switch the domain and monitor everything after launch.

A move is a chance to get organized.

Sites built page by page often repeat the same information in many places.

Moving from Wix lets us organize that content once, so updates happen in one place and show up everywhere they should.

Side by side

Wix vs. a custom website

Both approaches serve a purpose. The right choice depends on how much flexibility, ownership and customization your organization needs.

Wix

  • Drag-and-drop website builder
  • Pages designed one at a time
  • Features through the Wix App Market
  • Hosting included on the Wix platform
  • Site cannot be exported as code

Custom website

  • Built on a clear content structure
  • Consistent templates across every page
  • Custom features and direct integrations
  • Hosting you choose
  • Client-owned code and accounts where applicable
  • Room to scale as you grow

An example of strong content structure

From our work.

Adventure International website

Adventure International

The client needed
Decades of destinations, travel brands and specialized experiences had piled up on a site where pages repeated themselves and the strongest stories were buried.
We did
We mapped how every brand and destination connected, then built one consistent page structure and reusable templates that fit very different offerings while still feeling like one organization.
The result
A clearer, easier-to-navigate site, carried through launch including the domain and DNS transition and post-launch testing.

Questions

Wix migration FAQ

Can we export our Wix site and move it ourselves?

Wix does not let you export a site as code to host elsewhere, so a move means rebuilding the site and migrating its content. We handle that for you.

Will our Google rankings drop when we leave Wix?

A careful migration protects them. We map and redirect your existing URLs, keep your page titles and descriptions, and monitor search performance after launch.

Can we keep our domain?

Yes. Whether your domain is registered with Wix or elsewhere, we transfer it or point it to the new site with no downtime.
